UK Medical adds AVAflex to vertebroplasty range
UK Medical is delighted to announce the UK launch of the AVAflex curved injection needle, specifically designed to increase efficiency and improve safety in the treatment of vertebral compression fractures.
AVAflex is an ultra-flexible curved injection needle made from nitinol. AVAflex has been designed to provide targeted cement placement with a view to overcoming even the most challenging vertebral compression fractures. The curved needle design comfortably allows the aperture of the needle to transverse the vertebral body and facilitates a contralateral fill. As a result, bipedicular cases can be avoided which means potentially less patient trauma, increased patient safety and enhanced procedural ease. Ipsilateral superior and inferior targeting is also possible by withdrawing AVAflex into its delivery cannula and repositioning as necessary.
Commenting on the UK launch of AVAflex, Ian Aaron, UK Medical Managing Director said: 'We are constantly striving to introduce products to the market which offer a clinical and technical advantage over current options. Not only will AVAflex improve current procedural techniques but it may also help to broaden the range of vertebral compression fractures which can be treated with vertebroplasty'. The launch of AVAflex is hugely exciting and our expectations for this product are extremely high.
